Can't write result to remote drive

Feb 17, 2013 at 8:17 PM
I have tried as many combinations as I can think of to get this to work. I'm trying to get MCEBuddy to write the result file to a network drive. I have tried having the remote drive mapped, no mapping using 'guest' (works when I map the drive), no mapping using my user credentials (also works when I map the drive). I've even tried differnt systems, a Mac Mini and a Linux based NAS. I get the same reult.

Here's the failing part of the log:

Upload the full log when you entered the username and password to see what's going on. Have you entered the username and password in the Conversion Task settings page?

Tried this with and without the Domain. Nothing seem to make a difference. Also made sure via the "net use' that I was not connected under another user name. Also, when I try to use a mapped drive, it seems to automatically change it to the network designation instead of keeping the M:\ for example.

Thanks, Let me know if you need anything else.

Re: network drives: yes, they start with \, typo on my part.

I did a nice clear set of logs and I used the W7_scenic_demo_short file that comes with WMC to test with.

Youre credential are incorrect for some reason.

Try leaving the domain name blank. Check the security authentication on your target system, the authentication is failing for some reason.

Try the 03102013 build I've put a fix for some network issue, maybe it'll work for you as well

Okay I've found a bug in the code, which as replacing the mapped drive with a UNC path and ALSO a bug that prevents MCEBuddy from monitoring and writing to some remote directories.

I've fixed this in the next BETA build

Key point to note:

Now ALL remote files will need a username and password to connect to the network resource UNLESS the remote drive accepts guest OR everyone authentication. .MCEBuddy does NOT support mapped drives. All mapped drives files will be converted back to UNC paths

What will be the build version that this will be included in? I've been waiting for this fix myself. Right now I'm using a kludgy setup of robocopy scripts to perform my file copies. Doesn't work well when you have to set them up as startup scripts and occasionally RDP in and start a second copy of them. Any ideas when the current beta will be released and this fix will be released as a beta? I'll gladly donate to become eligible to download the beta at that time. Thanks for all your hard work on an excellent product!
