Original file corrupted

Mar 3, 2013 at 1:31 PM
I noticed some of my conversions have been cut to almost nothing. Investigating I found that in the remux it would find an
--> unsupported chunk:4737718e4a773111cbf529bb82c13831
drop out of the remux and then convert only what it had remuxed up to the unsupported chunk,
making the whole conversion worthless. Is there anyway to just fail the conversion at that point and go on to the next job(show)? I've sent my log to you. Original file was set to delete so it's gone.
That also brings up the question why does it completely delete and not just put it in the trash can for retrieval if necessary?

That's because ffmpeg didn't exit with an error so there's no way to know it's an issue. I can't check file size since I have amny files which are corrupted ie.e. showing 6GB but are actually 600MB, so that doesn't work either.

The only other option I can suggest is use

UseWTVRemuxsupp=true

in your profile and see if works.

In the next BETA build I've added an option for it in MCEBuddy.conf

UseRecycleBin=true (by default it's false).

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try those. I am learning, so I assume I edit the MCEBuddy.conf and add those two statements, stop and restart the service?

I decided I would just use the archive function for now and just go back to manually deleting the files for awhile.

I know MCEBuddy consumes you, and a whole bunch of your time, but it sure makes us end users life's a whole heck of a lot easier.

Thanks again for this great program! Actually I can't say "Thank's " enough.....

Yes, you'll find it there in the list in the next build. If you don't see it you're using the wrong build.

You don't need to stop the service, just the engine from teh GUI, make the changes and click start.

Sorry to jump on someone else's thread, but I'm having exactly the same problem with about 1 out of 5 WTV files. The fast ffmpeg remux gives an error like this:
--> unsupported chunk:0ee86f46a583334696f55b30b06d0b06

I tried adding UseWTVRemuxsupp=true parameter to the latest beta 12 release and it does seem to use the RemuxSupp, but appears to get errors and then falls back to the ffmpeg remux. Any ideas why remuxsupp is failing? If you need complete logs or sample WTV files, just let me know how to get them to you.

Remuxsupp is not very good at different types of wtv and is very sensitive to errors hence it is disabled by default and ffmpeg is used. However it is provided an an option I users want and it works for them with ffmpeg being the fallback option.

Unfortunately ffmpeg is not perfect either. If you send me the original wtv file chunk I can raise the issue with ffmpeg and hopefully they can fix it.
