Splitting temporary files

Apr 16, 2013 at 2:28 PM
I know you can move where the temporary files are held, but tis there any way to split them?

At the moment MCEBuddy creates a TS file in its working directory from the original WTV and then uses this is as input to the conversion process, the output file from this is also in the working directory, and when complete it is moved to the requested directory.

I want to know if it is possible to have the TS created in one directory and the output file in another, so that I can split them across two disk to improve performance?

no, not possible architecturally.

I want to improve performance across disks i would suggest setup a RAID 0 Stripe volume.

Is there any way to request this as a change for a future release. There is already an option to move the work directory, so it would only need a second option to allow the files to be put on different disks, default could be the same as the current option.

I would estimate that there would be at least a 25% reduction in processing time if users could use two disks when available.

Not a feasible option. May cause the program to destabilize. I would recommend the raid option instead
