FFMPEG CRF Profile

Sep 17, 2013 at 3:35 PM
I have been experimenting with an FFMPEG CRF profile. The profile below seems to provide excellent results. 600mb for 30 minute show, 1200mb for 60 minute show. Any reason why we don't see more use of CRF profiles with MCEBuddy? Any pros or cons on the profile below would be appreciated. Thanks!

that's good. Just that MCEBuddy support qscale instead of crf. What that means is that you can use CRF but the quality slider in MCEBuddy will not work.
If you use qscale instead of crf that the quality slider will work (it will adjust the qscale parameter).

There are a few profiles based on qscale. It's a great way to control quality, you can try it.
