Removing Commercials

Oct 9, 2014 at 11:05 PM
Thanks in advance for anyone's input.

I have lots of .mp4 video files that I'd like to remove commercials from. MCEBuddy works well enough to do this for me, but it takes a very long time. I think it is doing unnecessary video conversions because I want my files to stay in .mp4 format. I'm wondering if there are settings I can deploy that will speed up the commercial removal process by limiting conversion to only what is necessary.

Technical Details:
  • I capture the .mp4 videos via PlayLater
  • I'm using Windows 8
  • I watch videos on Roku/IPhone via Plex Server.

Try using the MP4 Unprocessed profile

I don't see the MP4 Unprocessed profile in the 2.3.13 client. I added it manually (referencing this post), but the outputted file won't play video. The audio works, and it appears to removed commercials, but all I see in Windows Media Player is the preview image, no video. Is there something I can do to change the profile settings to get it to work? You can see my log here.

Won't work with 2.3.13. The new builds have the profile built into them
