Subtiles are lost after WTV - WTV conversion

Feb 1, 2015 at 9:37 AM

I am a Swedish user and have problems with disappearing subtitles after conversion
WTV to WTV, using only Comskip. The subtitles are distributed by Teletext for the actual channel. The Subtitle option, using MCE for play, is gone after the conversion.

Is something wrong with setup or is it program related?

Use 2.3 Rel 15

Can you post a link to the conversion log. Also try updating to the latest release.

Tried also with 2.4 beta 2, but it didn't work either.

Couple of things:
  1. You haven't enabled extraction of closed captions in the configuration so it won't extract it
  2. WTV output doesn't support closed captions (only audio and video), only MP4/MKV/M4V etc are supported, however by enabling it will create a SRT file for you to use

Ok, then I know how it work's.

Anyway I changed to WTV -> MP4 conversion and ticked the subtitle box.
When the program is working it seems to extract subtitles, but I can not find any SRT-file?

The reason you don't see the SRT is because MCEBuddy can't find Closed Captions:
> WARNING> 2015-02-02T11:49:15 MCEBuddy.Engine.ConversionJob --> Empty or no SRT file found after extraction

Instead you have TeleText
> 2015-02-02T11:49:07 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.FFmpegMediaInfo --> "codec_name": "libzvbi_teletextdec",

We have had some success with Teletext but is work in progress. Can you upload some sample WTV files with Teletext to our MCEBuddy server so we can work on it. (see the read me before posting thread for instruction on uploading)

I have uploaded a small file (20s), "TV-Recording with Teletext".
