change subtitle display settings

Mar 8, 2015 at 5:56 AM
Is there a way to set or change the display settings for subtitles? Specifically, could the font color be changed, a background added, text converted to lower case, or other similar options? This would be for subtitles that are "soft subtitles" included in the Apple Tv M4V formats. Thanks!

That's rendering which is controlled by your playback software and not MCEBuddy. The subtitles are just stored in plain text SRT format. The playback device/software decides how when and where to display them.

So I had thought about that - but why would the same playback software (Apple TV) display the subtitles differently for shows recorded from same series, same tuner, same channel? Also, sometimes it has a black background and others it doesnt (even though original source - .wtv - always has same formatted CC). Thanks for the response - this helps!

Only apple can answer that. :)
