Adding ShowName-SeasonEpisode-Title Support for metadata collection.

Nov 29, 2015 at 3:36 PM
So my wife and I are cutting the cord and going pretty much Hulu, Netflix, HBO Now, Amazon, and UseNet.

However we all really like the WMC interface and we'd like to be able to continue using that.
I figured it wouldn't be a problem since MCEBuddy can take MKV's and convert to WTV's (which it does flawlessly)
Apparently though unless the file is named ShowTitle-Airdate(YYYYMMDD) it completely fails at finding the Metadata (based on the file name). The problem is most of my shows are titled like (The Grinder - S01E01 - Pilot.mkv) And in order to get it to work right I have to manually change each episode name which requires me to go to TVDB find the show then find the air date.

Unless there is an easier way to do this, can the functionality be added that MCEBuddy can query based off of traditional naming schemes instead of air date?

By the way I'm a paid member and I love MCEBuddy. :)

Use the latest 2.4.3 build, it has support for this format:
            // FORMAT for nPVR Series Naming is
            // SHOWNAMEZSxxExxxZSUBTITLE (where Z is any character like space, dot, dash etc)
            // E.g
            // Law & Order Special Victims Unit S05E21 Criminal
            // Law & Order Special Victims Unit.S05E21.Criminal
            // Law.&.Order.Special.Victims.Unit.S05E21.Criminal
            // Law & Order Special Victims Unit - S05E21 - Criminal
