Your log file shows that the original video is copy protected. To override this: taken from teh documentation -> Advanced Commands on the MCEbuddy website:

Add this line to the profile you're using in profiles.conf (in the installation\config directory)

IgnoreCopyProtection=false

By default, this value is false. If this is set to true, then MCEBuddy will ignore the Copy Protection flag on the recording if it encounters it during conversion. It will only record an error in the conversion log and continue the conversion. If the recording is really copy protected then the final video will be look garbled. This flag can help because sometimes videos are incorrectly flagged by recording software/tuners. When this is set to false, if MCEBuddy encounters an Copy Protection flag it will stop the conversion after logging an error.

I'm assuming you're using the latest version version of MCEBuddy

Ok I guess I’m blind I can’t find anything on blocked content

I suspect that Cox cable is blocking premium channel content.

Can you please show how or if I can edit code in the config?

yes I mentioend in point 2 it won't work with the old versions because of a bug, I 've fixed it. If you download the latest BETA and then make the changes you'll see it work. (restart the GUI after a change).

I removed the quotes but it still does not work for me. I can tell because it still translates "Events" (on the right below the PayPal button) with "Veranstaltungen" (an event, performance) instead of "Ereignisse" (occurrence, incidence).
I had to rename the file to de.txt to see the new translations. Maybe that was what you wanted to say in 2?

Some more things:

There are still typos in my translation. Sorry.
I hope I translated right, but I'm not sure. It's hard to tell what some things mean if you don't see them with context (e.g "Time Check" ??)
There should be separate parameters for the GUI language and for the default audio language in converted files.
Have some English native reader proofread the English texts. I guess some texts could be expressed more clearly. Streamline the wording (is there a difference between ads and commercials or between service and engine?)
- "A task is a conversion template that contains a conversion profile and various other conversion parameters." There is too much conversion in this for me.
- "Used to change the video quality of the converted file, normal is 1." (Those were the days, but do they use today?) There were some occasions with wrong tense, I guess. How about "Creates a folder called \'MCEBuddyArchive\' where the original file is located". how can you create a folder where something is already located? But I am not English native so maybe I still rely on my school English.

If you add texts and need them to be translated, drop me a note. It may take some time but I will do my best.

Run time updates to <language>-fixed.txt translation corrections - now correct your own language yourself, plus now MCEBuddy supports Klingon :)

Done it's out and thanks for your help. Any changes you make the -fixed.txt file will be reflected after restarting the GUI.

It works great, you need to remove the quotes from the lines.

Here's why you don't see it working:

The quotes need to be removed
I need to upload the user translations using a software into the next BETA build using a tool. I will fix this so that in the next BETA build it will automatically update the translations on the fly from the user installation directory instead of having to wait for a new build Sorry about that.

The new BETA release will be out today.

Ah, unfortunately there is no documentation but I can creates a starting point for you (will take some time toput some up later).

The connection to the engine is done over a SOA 1.1 XML Serialized interface
Open the GUI (status.cs) to get an idea how the current Client connects to the engine. (method TryConnect)
Open Core.cs, at the end all the public interfaces are listed out
ICore is the interface that contains all the publicly exposed interfaces
MCEBuddy.Globals in the class that contains global definitions
MCEBuddy.Configuration is the class the contains the configuration object

I see you've already added the a button to show history, very useful and of course you are correct about the failed files being left behind but what I was trying to get at was a method of making sure there is a disposition of all files and more to the point a method of automation. By moving the failed files to another directory, since it is easy and possible to define additional monitors to pickup the files and process. In my situation the failure rate is not high, not a big deal but it would be slick and IMHO consistent with the existing architecture.

Thank you, will start testing the latest beta this weekend.

I'm looking at writing a client, so i'm interested in the protocols involved in obtaining the data.

The documentation shows how to change the server port. Then just put thta port and ipaddress/name in the client and you're done.

uff.. here's the file. I could not get it to display in MCEBuddy. I replaced the de.txt and switched the language. It worked with the original file but not with this. Maybe it has some coding errors? Can you check that? Joe
