renaming the file with the wrong dates

Oct 26, 2012 at 12:25 AM

I am currently using MCEbuddy 2.3.1 (I plan to upgrade this weekend). I have it set up so for my daily shows it renames the file

%showname%\Season %season%\%showname% - %airyear%.%airmonth%.%airday%

but for some reason it is always using the day before i.e. instead of the correct date 2012.10.25 it uses 2012.10.24. WMC is putting the right air date why is MCEbuddy putting the wrong one.

2 questions:

1. What time zone are you in

2. Right click on the WTV file and click properties, goto the details page and let me know what you see for Air Date and Record Date

I live in UTC-5:00 us eastern time

when I right click the WTV file the record date is 10/25/2012 7:59PM and the air date is 10/25/2012 12:00AM

That because what you're seeing is the UTC (It's assumed that windows stores the date/time as UTC) time and MCEBuddy reports the EST time (local time) (which will be UTC - 5 Hrs) i.e. 10/24/2012 08:00PM

Is there a way to to make it use the correct date? the example I used above is the first airing of that episode.

Can you upload the file so I can debug this issue.

login: mcebuddy

pwd: mcebuddy

I uploaded the file its name is "Attack of the Show!_G4_2012_10_25_19_59_41.wtv" it is a little over 1 min long. It does the wrong date to all my files so can upload another one if you want.

Upon further inspection all my TV recordings have the air date with the time at 12am. It looks like the the WMC isn't putting the time right.

Okay the issue was a little complex related to timezone, anyways now I'm assuming that the video is recorded and coverted on the same machine in the same timezone.

This will fix the problem in 2.3.6 (however note if the machine timezone changes, the lookup will not work since the original timezone is not known and MCEBuddy that the local timezone is the network timezone)
