HW Acceleration not Running?

Oct 22, 2014 at 2:32 AM
Hi,

Just put a new video card in my machine, was excited to use it with MCEBuddy, but I don't think it's working. From the log,

2014-10-19T19:47:19 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.Handbrake --> [19:47:19] OpenCL device #1: NVIDIA Corporation GeForce GTX 750 Ti
2014-10-19T19:47:19 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.Handbrake --> [19:47:19] - OpenCL version: 1.1 CUDA
2014-10-19T19:47:19 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.Handbrake --> [19:47:19] - driver version: 344.11
2014-10-19T19:47:19 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.Handbrake --> [19:47:19] - device type: GPU
2014-10-19T19:47:19 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.Handbrake --> [19:47:19] - supported: no

Seems odd to me, this is a pretty new device, new driver. Or am I just missing something?

Thanks!

MCEBuddy needs OpenCL 1.2 or later

Hi,

Makes sense, but something seems odd here - I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers (less than a month old) - they must have support for (current vintage) OpenCL, no?

Thanks!

If you are looking for video encoding OpenCL 1.1 does not support it yet (lobby nvidia to provide support for opencl 1.2 or quick sync). Right now quick sync will provide you the acceleration you need. OpenCL 1.1 can still be used but for limited acceleration like scaling and cropping. See the hardware FAQ's on how to enable it manually
